In Loving Memory of Gerard Paul (GP, Gerry, Papa G) Lopez

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the sudden but peaceful passing of Gerard Lopez, my younger brother, Josh’s father, and my mother’s son on May 15, 2024, at the age of 53.

Gerard was a beacon of kindness and generosity, whose warmth and caring nature touched the lives of all who knew him. He was a devoted father, whose love and guidance shaped the life of his son in profound ways. Gerard’s unwavering support and selfless acts of kindness were the cornerstones of his character.

He dedicated 27 years of his life to ADT/Telus and mentored many along the way. In his last few days, many of you were able to say your goodbyes to Gerry and showed us how much he was loved. He lived a life full of laughter and always putting the needs of others before his own. His legacy of compassion and empathy has left an indelible mark on his family and those that knew him. Gerard’s ability to see the good in people and situations, even in challenging times, was an inspiration to many.

As we say goodbye to Gerard, we also celebrate the extraordinary life he led and the countless memories we shared. On his way out, he even saved another soul from a lifetime of dialysis. His furniture was donated to 2 families in need: 1 fleeing a war from Ukraine and 1 young family newly immigrated from the Philippines. His spirit will continue to live on through the love he instilled in us and the positive impact he made to those he has touched.

We will not be holding a memorial service for Gerard’s as we wish to spend these last moments with him and his family.

Gerard’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all those who have expressed their love and support during this difficult time. He may have left this world, but he will never leave our hearts.
