With great sadness we regret to announce the passing of our beloved father, Geoffrey Gordon McCrea on July 31, 2024 in Calgary, Alberta. We will be forever grateful for the thoughts, messages and phone calls to our father as he peacefully passed and that he left us surrounded by family and all of the love.
Uncle Geoff was predeceased by his parents Sarah (Sadie) and John McCrea but his love for them both and his pride in his roots and Irish heritage went into everything he did. Geoff was born in Toronto, the second youngest of ten children. Geoff grieved the loss of his siblings Wesley, Jack, George, Robert, Ruby, Tom, Florence, and Kelvin as well as the loss of his nieces Tracy McCrea, Sydney Waters, and great nephew Brandon McCrea. Geoff is survived by his sister May, sister-in-law Barb McCrea, brother-in-law Jim Klein and ex wife Linda McCrea.
Our dad was a rising tide who will be missed by countless nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Most of all Geoff will be missed by his children, Joel, Craig, Cam (Emilie) and the lights of his life, his grandchildren Scarlett Rose and Atlas Xavier.
Geoff was a dedicated employee of 37 years at National Concrete Accessories, an avid camper, and volunteer for the Jesse Ketchum Alumni and the historic Bovaird House in Brampton. Donations in memory of Geoff’s commitment to service and community can be made to the historic Bovaird House in Brampton, Ontario.
A memorial service for our father will be held at Ward Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, Brampton on August 10, 2024.
The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to Wentworth Manor for their kindness and caring in our father’s final days.
