Eugene (Gene) Harold Hamby

Eugene (Gene) Harold Hamby passed away peacefully at the AGAPE Hospice, on Sunday, October 15, 2023.

A cherished husband, devoted father, and proud grandfather who loved to laugh, fish, spoil his dogs, and to attend gatherings that included family, friends, and food.

Gene was born on June 24, 1942, in Calgary, Alberta. He was very proud of his family roots, and he led a quiet life characterized by hard work, love, generosity, and being meticulous in all that he did.

Gene is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Terry; his sons, Wes (Maho), Gord (Donna) and Ted (Michelle); and his grandchildren, Kristi and Zachary. Each of them held a special place in his heart. Gene is also survived by his younger siblings, Gail, Bob, Rich, and their families.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who offered support, prayers, and condolences during this difficult time. Gene would not want anyone to fuss or be sad, instead, he would want you to love those close to you, love your dogs and to all his fishing buddies, get out on the Bow River, and chase that fat brown trout that got away!
