Esther Borger

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Esther Borger at the age of 93, on Sunday, June 2, 2024. She succeeded Fred, her beloved husband of 53 years, who she lost in 2009.

Esther will be fondly remembered by her children, John (Fany), Holly (Dave), Rock, Tracey (Don), Morris (Peggy) and Darline (Steve); her grandchildren, Alan (Anita), Kara (Locke), Jim, Donald (Kelly), Brent (Jenna), Julie, Jennifer (Nathan), Paige (Alex), Chris (Alexa), Marty (Destiny), and Katelyn; and her great-grandchildren, Wren, Starling, Jasper, Beatrix, Hayley, Lucas and Clarke.

The daughter of a Lutheran Minister and former proprietress of various pool halls and bowling alleys, Esther was quiet, kind, generous, hardworking and headstrong.

This latter trait in particular was sustained right to the end -- despite her warm smile, she almost got kicked out of hospice for not dying! Esther continued to build friendly relationships up until her very last days, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Thank you to all the amazing staff at Dulcina Hospice who lovingly cared for Esther.
