With profound love and sadness, the family of Elizabeth Mary King (née Paulin) announce her peaceful passing on Saturday, October 25, 2025, in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 86.
Elizabeth was born on September 22, 1939, in Fort McMurray, Alberta.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband Jack King; her daughter Brenda (Al) Fearon; her parents Margaret and Xavier “Jean” Paulin; and her siblings Charlie (Emma) Cooper, Georgina (Jules) Flobert, Edward (Celina) Cooper, Ramona (Ben) Able, Mabel Krahn, and Louie (Martha) Paulin. She is lovingly remembered by her children Lois Shaw, Dale (Sheryl) Shaw, and Cindy (Carl) Rudzki; her seven grandchildren Jeffrey, Crystal, Tiffany, Jaime (Ryan), Matthew, Abigale, and Jesse; and her fifteen great-grandchildren Chase (Aden), Vivienne (Aleah), Keanu, Raven, Indigo, Xander, Isaac, Damien, Kingston, Isabella, Cruz, Avery, Jasper, Elcie, and Aurora. She will also be deeply missed by countless nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends whose lives she touched with her kindness and warmth.
Elizabeth was the heart of her family, always hosting large family dinners and gatherings that brought everyone together. She loved bowling, playing cards, and listening to Elvis and gospel music. She never missed a birthday, faithfully sending cards and phoning each year to sing “Happy Birthday” in her cheerful voice. Her gentle spirit, deep kindness, and steady love will be remembered always.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. in the Charleswood Room at the Triwood Community Centre, 2244 Chicoutimi Drive NW, Calgary, Alberta. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend and share memories of Elizabeth, whose love and spirit will continue to live on in all who knew her.
