Born in Wynyard, Saskatchewan, Edna grew up on the family farm with her two sisters Avis and Lois. She met Arlan there and they married in '48 and moved to Calgary in '57. She was predeceased by Arlan in 2000.
Edna was a devoted, caring mother to Michael (Sandy Gillis) Olson, Murray (Marion) Olson, Monte Olson, Maxine (Volker) Mendritzki, Mark (Donna) Olson, and Patti (Ken) McIvor; grandmother to 17; and great grandmother to 14 and counting. She endeared herself to others with her unfailing good manners, gentle nature and acceptance of all.
Edna was know for her brown bread, special white buns, homemade jam, and vinarterta. She was a wonderful school teacher, Silver Life Master in Duplicate Bridge, an accomplished seamstress and quilter, Tai Chi enthusiast, and above all a hard worker. While we grieve her loss, we all know that she is finally at peace.
