It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doris in the wee hours of September 10, 2020. Doris was pre-deceased by her parents Alfred and Charlotte Mitchell; her brother Charles Mitchell; and her son Kevin St. Jacques on June 19 this year, after a battle with cancer.
Doris is survived by her brother Thomas, known as Harry (Anne) Mitchell; her sisters Phillis Lalonde and Lois Alcanbrack; her daughter Wendy St. Jacques (Lorne Levins); her grandsons, Brett and Lee; her granddaughters, Pamela (Mark), and Krista; her “chosen” granddaughters Elaine Stevens and Freida Stevens; great grandchildren: Meagan (George), Luke, Jerod, Micah, Aaron, Fletcher, Tearsa, Ken, Clayton, Brandon, Taven, and Keenan; and her first 4th generation grandson, Koda-Ryan. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, and numerous friends who will miss her dearly.
In her younger years Doris enjoyed working at small part time jobs, crafts and loved playing cards with her girlfriends. She had a very special gift… "The Gift of Hospitality", enjoying family and friends, entertaining everyone! Known as Auntie Dorie to her nieces & nephews, Doris always had a smile to share, a great story to tell and never missed a step on the dance floor.
Our family is very thankful for the wonderful, loving care Doris received at Mayfair Care Centre in Calgary during her last years. Mom will always hold wonderful memories in our hearts. She may be gone but will never be forgotten.
"Her journey on this earth may be done... but I am sure the Angels in Heaven are rejoicing!"
In lieu of flowers we know Doris would appreciate donations to Armagh House (52581-1801 Lakeshore Rd. W, Mississauga, Ontario L5J 5S6; www.armaghhouse.ca)
