Doreen Eugenia Sturm

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness, that the family of Doreen Sturm announce her passing on June 16, 2021 at the age of 78 years.

Doreen is survived and mourned by her children: Monty (Karen) Deering, Darcy (Linda) Deering, Dale (Lisa) Sturm, and Dennis Sturm; and her numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Doreen was predeceased by her son, Gerald Roy Deering; her sister, Bernice Stach; her parents, Sebastion (Sy) and Eugenia Stach; her sister Lillian Johnson (Stach); and her husband, Edward Sturm.

Anyone that knew Doreen knew that she loved her enormous family dearly and was always there to help when needed. In her earlier days she enjoyed travelling and driving big rigs with her husband. She especially loved reading a good book, family gatherings and playing canasta and train with family and friends. Her laugh was contagious and one of her greatest attributes was to not beat around the bush. If you asked for her opinion, she would tell it like it was whether you wanted to hear it or not.  She was loved dearly.  

Those we love do not go away, they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear.

Due to COVID restrictions and Doreen’s wishes, a memorial will not be held.
