Donald “Donny” McMillan passed away unexpectedly on November 22, 2025. Though his time here was far too short, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family and the many people who were blessed to know and love him.
Donny had a happy-go-lucky spirit and a bright, warm presence that could light up any room. He made everyone around him feel seen, appreciated, and cared for, and he never hesitated to offer a helping hand. His kindness, humor, and generous heart were constants in the lives of all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by many beloved family members, including his mother Florence, father Donald, brother Russell, uncle Billy, and uncle Jack. Cherishing his memory are his little sister Marjorie; Cindy Hunt, mother of his 2 daughters; Jessy (Alex) daughter Kally, and Vanessa (her daughters Makayla, Destinee, and Tianna), as well as one great-grandchild on the way. Donny is also lovingly remembered by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends especially his aunty Jennie, who was more like a sister, and his cousin Jennifer Fitger, with whom he grew especially close in recent years. The list of people who loved him dearly could go on and on.
Donny loved music, especially playing his harmonica, and he had an incredible talent for creating almost anything out of wood. While he was gifted in many ways, his greatest legacy will always be the love he freely gave and his ability to accept people exactly as they were.
We take comfort in imagining him jamming with the angels now. And if we listen closely, we can almost hear the familiar sound of his harmonica letting us know he’s okay. May he now rest in peace.
