Donald Jones

Donald Jones age 88, passed away peacefully on November 5 at the Foothills hospital in Calgary, Alberta. He was born on May 26, 1937, in Claresholm, Alberta. Donald is survived by his beloved wife Marion; his children Sherry Telle (Dennis), Donna Friedt (Geoff), and Ken Jones (Audrey); grandchildren Heather Murphy (James), Devon Telle (Kristen), Tristan Telle (Stephanie), Sam Jones, Sean Friedt (Michelle), Alex Jones (Kyle), and Kathleen Thomson (Sean); as well as great-grandchildren Aiden, Violet, Alice, Georgia, Kaius, Oliver, Adrien, Winona, Caoimhe and Sasha Jessi. He also leaves behind his sisters Karen Malsbury and Lynda Williams. Don was predeceased by his son David Jones and brothers Jack, Jim, and Gerry.

Don worked as an engineer for Home Oil where he made significant contributions throughout his career. Upon retirement he started his own business DJ and Associates as a freelance engineer. He then went on to work at Willow Park Wines and Spirits where he combined his love of fine wine with his love of people. He only stopped when his health would no longer allow him to continue.

His true passion was his family, and he leaves behind a lasting legacy of love that will continue to inspire his family and friends. Don’s life was a testament to the values he held dear and he will be remembered with love and respect.

A celebration of Don’s life will be held November 21st  at Canyon Meadows Community Centre (1-3pm) 844 Cantabrian Drive SW, Calgary.
