Dianne Cecilia Pottinger

Dianne Cecilia Pottinger, affectionately known as "Lady Di" by her family, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 67, after a three-month battle at the Peter Lougheed Hospital. Her husband Michael Owsjanikow was present to say his last goodbye to his dearest wife, as she joined her family in a blissful eternity.

Dianne was born on August 28, 1957, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she lived for 50 years, moving to Medicine Hat, Alberta, in 2007. She soon found a job at Cypress View Foundation, a care home, where she made many friends who just loved her great sense of humour and her laughter. Dianne loved to go for long rides and adventuring with her husband, Michael, throughout the years, they ventured to almost all of Canada and saw all the beautiful sights and scenery across the great country. Dianne loved reading, puzzles, playing games online, watching TV, listening to music (Spirit in the sky by Greenbaum), and driving around southern Alberta with Michael.

Dianne is survived by her common-law husband of 36 years, Michael Owsjanikow, and her four brothers, Darcy, Alan, Robert, and Steven. Dianne was predeceased by her mother Lorna, her brothers, Jimmy, Leslie and Terry; and her two sisters, Darlene and Teresa, also her nephews Darrell and Jeremy. May they all rest in peace and tranquility.

Dianne was a kind, sociable and loving person who will be long remembered by the many whose lives she touched.

Over the past year, Dianne faced significant medical challenges, which prevented her from returning home as she had hoped. Her cremated remains will be brought to Winnipeg, where a Memorial Service will be held for family and friends at a later date.
