Diana Gudim Obituary

Diana Joy Gudim of Calgary, Alberta passed away on January 4, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Diana married her beloved husband, Bruce, on August 20, 1977. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and deep connection. She was a devoted mother to Mark (Breanna), Cassandra (Ben), and Alexandra (Kyle), and a proud grandmother to Sebastian, Theodore, Elliott, Finn, Olea, Cormac, Roselyn, and Zachary. Her family was her life, and she nurtured each relationship with tenderness and joy.

Diana was ambitious and creative throughout her life. In the 1980s she founded a clothing design company, Luv’em Designs, later choosing to close the business to focus on raising her three young children. When her children were grown, she completed a master’s degree in counselling psychology and founded Viewpoint Psychological Services. Her work was grounded in empathy and shaped by her own experiences with chronic illness and disability. She supported individuals and couples with insight, hope, and unwavering belief in their capacity for healing.

Her therapeutic approach blended Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, humanistic and solution‑focused methods, Gottman couples therapy, and trauma‑informed care. Her legacy continues through the practice she built and the many lives she touched.

Diana found joy in travel, international cuisine, science‑fiction and fantasy novels. She was curious, witty, and deeply present in the lives of those around her. She travelled widely with her husband and children, creating cherished memories in Spain, Türkiye, England, France, the Cayman Islands, Jamaica, Florida, Hawaii, and Utah.

To know Diana was to be seen, heard, and loved. Her grace lives on in the hearts of those she cherished.

Diana’s favourite films included Aliens, Groundhog Day, Willow, The Princess Bride, and The Fifth Element. Her favourite novel was The Eight by Katherine Neville. Her children knew her as a loving mother, an amazing cook, a patient teacher, the warmest hugger, and a dream‑enabler. Her grandchildren will remember her stories, her gifts of books and Christmas ornaments, her pumpkin spaghetti, chocolate‑chip muffins, and her gentle patience.
