Denny Guyda Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Denny Guyda, of Langdon, Alberta, on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the age of 46.

Denny was born in January of 1977, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to parents Darrell and Willy Guyda. Denny spent much of her life as an athlete, excelling in gymnastics, soccer, and basketball.

Growing up, Denny developed a love for the outdoors as camping was a passion for the family. Exploring, fishing, building forts, and gathering wood for our fires was a common occurrence. The love for the outdoors continued into her adulthood, as she spent many summer weekends camping with her daughter and their friends. She also loved spending time at the family cabin in Kenora. Always willing to pitch in with tree cutting, and catching the bait for fishing (kidding, but she’s been known to catch some pretty teeny fish).

After high school, Denny welcomed her daughter Ciera into the world and decided to go to school to become an LPN. Denny loved helping people and it showed in how she cared for her patients.

After moving to Alberta to be closer to her family, Denny found her love for fixing things. She became an apprentice carpenter and enjoyed the physical nature of construction. There wasn’t anything Denny could not do. She was a machine.

Denny also joined her partner Darrin (aka: Wiseman) on many hunting trips and loved introducing people to eating the wild game they brought home.

Denny is survived by her daughter Ciera (Parker); partner Wiseman; parents, Darrell and Willy; siblings, Kristal and Dustin (wife Tammy, niece/nephews Declan, Kullen, and Tenley); as well as close friend Cheryl Ford; and mother-in-law Georgina Wiseman. Denny also left behind many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. We will all miss her sense of humour, and her caring nature.

A Celebration of Life is being held outdoors at Weaselhead Flats (6615 37 St. SW in Calgary) on Saturday, May 13, 2023. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a dog rescue of your choice.

There will also be a Celebration of Life at the family cabin in Kenora, Ontario in mid-August for extended family and friends.
