It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cynthia Virginia Nixon (née Christie), who left us peacefully on April 2, 2025, at the Agape Hospice after a courageous fight with cancer.
Cynthia was born on August 18, 1960, in Ontario to her parents, Ray and Jean. She was the third of five children, joining her older siblings Wayne and Judy. The family later relocated to Alberta, where brothers Mitch and Mark were born.
Cynthia was a dedicated mother to her daughter, Casey Dawn, and much later found her loving husband, Bill. She was a vibrant Christian spirit known for her kindness, warmth, and beautiful, infectious smile. She had a unique ability to light up any room she entered, and her laughter was a source of joy for all who knew her. Her love for her family and friends was boundless, and she took extraordinary pride in being a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. Cynthia’s nurturing nature extended beyond her family, she had a unique way of making everyone feel valued and loved.
Cynthia was a dabbling artist, children’s story author and illustrator, yard art creator, alley cruiser, and avid gardener.
Cynthia was predeceased by her beloved mother Jean, father Ray, and brother Mitch, as well as her beautiful pets: dogs, Pink and Suki, and cats, Marksy and Oliver. Their loving memories will be forever cherished. She leaves behind her loving family; husband Bill, daughter Casey, grandchildren Ayla, Roman, Zoey, and Lucy, sister Judy, and brothers Wayne and Mark, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who miss her dearly.
As we remember Cynthia, we celebrate her life - a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished moments. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. In honoring her memory, let us carry forward her spirit of kindness and compassion.
