Cory Lorne Goodwin was born on February 21, 1982, in Calgary, Alberta. He passed away suddenly on Monday, May 25, 2026, at the age of 44.
Throughout his life, Cory faced many challenges, yet no matter what stood in his way, he never stopped fighting. He was fearless, strong-willed, and full of life. Cory had a bold personality and an even bigger heart. He was fiercely loyal, funny, and had an unforgettable spirit that touched so many lives.
He was an avid sports fan who cheered passionately for the Dallas Cowboys and the Calgary Flames, and he had a deep love for rock ’n’ roll, especially bands like AC/DC and Metallica. Cory’s love, laughter, and spirit will stay with us always.
Cory held an incredibly special place in our family and in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. The pain of losing him so suddenly is impossible to put into words, and our hearts will never be the same without him.
Cory leaves behind his mother, Deborah (Brian); his father, Lorne; and his siblings, Jason (Jackie), Kyle (Madison), Chelsea (Reid), Brandon and Miranda along with countless family members and friends who are grieving this unimaginable loss.
Memorial Service will be held at Evan J. Strong Funeral Services North on Monday, June 1, 2026 at 2:00pm. Immediately following the Memorial Service, relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family in the Gathering Space.
Missing You Always
You never said I’m leaving,
You never said goodbye.
You were gone
Before we knew it,
And only God knows why.
A million times
I’ve needed you,
A million times
I’ve cried.
If love alone could
have saved you,
You never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly,
I death I love you still.
In my heart I hold a place,
That only you can fill.
