It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christopher William Pierlot of Calgary, on March 14, 2023, at the young age of 53 years.
Christopher was born in Whitehorse, Yukon on February 28, 1970. His first three and a half years were spent in Whitehorse before he moved to Golden with his mom Colleen. Christopher and his mom then moved to Kamloops where she met and married Blaine Pierlot who became the dad Christopher always wanted.
Christopher went to school in Port Coquitlam, graduating in 1988 from Terry Fox Secondary. Terry Fox was Christopher’s hero and he was always proud of that connection to both the high school and the City of Port Coquitlam. After high school, Christopher worked at a number of jobs including Bevco-Conveying Systems and Caradon Indalex before moving to Calgary and eventually started work at Wolesley where he worked until his untimely passing. The community of his friends in Calgary is far-reaching and so full of love. Their assistance to us during this heartbreaking time will live with us forever.
Christopher’s legacy is in the love he had for his family and friends. He had the biggest heart of any man and if you were his friend, you were his friend for life. He still kept in contact with many of his school buddies and was always so honoured by getting to know their kids. Kids were a huge part of his life and Christopher always had a dinky car, a candy, a stuffy for all of his favourite kids.
Christopher leaves a big family on both his mom's and dad’s sides…. aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. And he was never afraid to say to those close to him that he loved them. Christopher also leaves a huge family of close friends in Calgary and those from his school days in Port Coquitlam. Christopher had a huge passion for his favourite teams, the Vancouver Canucks, the BC Lions and the Chicago Bears!
A Celebration of Life will be held for Christopher on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at the Centennial Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion (9202 Horton Road SW, Calgary) from 1:00pm - 4:00pm.
Rest in peace, son, brother and friend!
