With grieving hearts, we are sad to announce the passing of Carrie Lynn Saikkonen (Watmough). Carrie passed away at Foothills Medical Centre on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, due to complications of past traumas and health issues.
Carrie was a free spirit born in Calgary, Alberta on January 30, 1970. She was 53 years old. Carrie was unafraid of new challenges and adventures. She had a passion for horses and dedicated a large portion of her life to them. Her life evolved away from horses and into married life and motherhood.
Carrie leaves behind her husband Terrance; her twin sons, Carter and Tyson; her brother BJ, her kindred spirit and cousin Ladonna Andres; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Carrie is predeceased by her father, Brian, her mother Joanne, and her mother-in-law Margaret.
The family will not be having a celebration of life, but her cousin Jenine will be making a memorial video tribute to her memory, that will be available on social media or sent to those who are not on a social media platform.
May Carrie rest in peace as she is reunited with her mother and father and many other family and friends in heaven.
We encourage those who wish to do so, to hold their own gathering in tribute to the memory of Carrie and to add any videos or tributes to her Facebook page. You can also post it here, on the tribute wall.
We also ask that any condolence cards be sent directly to: Carter & Tyson Saikkonen - 307 Ojibway Rd., Whitefish, Ontario P0M 3E0.
Any donations to be sent other than in the mail, please make an e-transfer to: bjwatmo@yahoo.ca where it will be collected and given to her sons.
