Carl Kobe Obituary

“Valen” was born in Drumheller, Alberta on October 21, 1964. He lived most of his life growing up in Valleyview, Alberta with his parents Wayne & Betty Kobe and brothers Boyd, Tom and Trevor. They lived on the farm helping his dad raise cattle for many years.

He spent many summers visiting friends & family in Drumheller, AB where he stayed with his grandmother, Melinda Kobe. He enjoyed roaming around the valley, climbing hills, riding bikes, and skateboarding as a kid and going to concerts, hanging with friends and parting out in the hills as he got older.

Once he finished high school, he went on to become a Journeyman Electrician. He lived and worked in Vancouver BC while he was in his twenties. Spending time with his mom, Stepfather (Patricia & Bob Windsor) and Sisters Cory & Shelly. He also lived and worked in Squamish and Vancouver Island BC. Spending his personal time outdoors as much as possible in the mountains. He loved festivals, mountain biking, hunting, dirt biking, camping and riding his motorcycle. His friends and his family were important to him, and he loved hanging out and catching up every chance he would get. He was a free spirit and loved spending time in nature, listening to music, collecting coins, being creative and making such things as a rocking chair from natural forged wood found in the Kananaskis. He was very talented and custom-made jackets from suede/leather by hand.

Eventually, he ended up working in Northern AB for Oil & Gas as an Electrician. In Fort McMurray and living in camp. Through his life his love of music, the outdoors, animals (especially dogs)and art filled his life. He was always fun loving and quick with a joke. Adventurous and carefree, he loved deeply. He loved his nephews Nathan, Braydon, Logan & Morgan and little Nieces Brielle & McKenzie. He leaves to mourn his parents, siblings, nephews/nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends. He will be sadly missed, and family will hold a small Celebration of his Life in Drumheller where his cremated remains will be buried at a later date.
