Bruce Kendall Gartshore

Bruce Kendall Gartshore, age 73, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 23, 2024, surrounded by his family. Born on April 2, 1951, in Asbestos, Quebec, Bruce lived a life full of caring, laughter, and dedication to his family and friends.

Bruce enjoyed a long and rewarding career as a mining engineer, where his expertise and mentorship left a lasting impact on colleagues and the larger Ontario mining community. He was always up for a cross-country road trip. His passion for sports, especially golf, hockey, curling, and football, was well known, and he shared that enthusiasm as an athlete, sports dad, and tournament organizer.

Building relationships came easily to Bruce, and he was highly regarded as a strong community leader and trusted friend. With family as his focal point, he was a loving husband, father, and grandpa. He leaves behind his wife of 48 years, Sally, and his children, Ashley, Ainsley, James, and Jesse (Jason). His grandchildren, Eliza, Georgia, Roslyn, and Xander, will remember their “Gapa” fondly. Bruce also leaves behind several cherished grandkitties.

Bruce will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love, loyalty, and kindness will live on.

A Memorial Gathering will be held at the Haysboro Community Centre (1204 89 Ave SW, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
