It is with great sadness that we are announcing the sudden passing of Bret Connelly, at age 36 on August 12, 2025.
Bret is survived by his mom, Barb Connelly and his older brother, Josh Connelly. He is already missed, and we will always feel the void in our hearts.
Bret was born in Red Deer, Alberta and moved to Qualicum Beach, BC when he was 5 years old. He loved the water and sand and walking through the forest. He made friends with all of the dogs in the neighborhood and knew all of their names. Bret and Josh loved fishing off the dock for crayfish at Cameron Lake and never wanted to go home. Bret was the water boy for Josh’s high school football team and ended up with the nickname Buddha.
Bret was always helping somebody, he would ask if he could help which made others appreciate his kindness. Bret gave back to the community by helping others even as a grown man. Anyone who met him thought he was kind, funny and compassionate.
At the family’s request no service will be held. Memorial donations may be made in Bret Connelly’s name to The Salvation Army. To celebrate Bret’s life, a private Casting Ceremony will take place at Little Mountain on Vancouver Island.
We would like to thank EMS and Simply Cremations for their compassion and respect for the services provided.
The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
