Beverly Laidlaw

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Beverly Laidlaw, who died peacefully on November 7, 2025, at Rockyview Hospital at the age of 79, with her close friends by her side.

Born in Claresholm, Alberta, Bev was predeceased by her parents and is survived by her sister, Barbara Laidlaw of Vancouver, BC. She is also lovingly remembered by her “adopted” family—Cheryl, Don, Kelly, Graham, Quincy, and Jay.

Bev was a devoted elementary school teacher in Calgary for 35 years, teaching at Kingsland School (1967–1976) and Prince of Wales School (1976–2002). She was admired by students and parents alike for her dedication.

For 28 years, Bev was an important part of the Nesbitt family, celebrating every holiday and milestone with them. She especially cherished becoming “Auntie Bev” to little Quincy in 2024.

Bev loved her trips to Arizona, summers in her meticulously arranged yard, and quiet moments in her “she-shed” with a book or music. Always a classy dresser, she took pride in presenting herself with style and grace.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, and we take comfort in knowing she is now at peace.
