Betty Ann (Ponto) Litke

On Thursday December 21, 2023 Betty Ann Litke, passed away at the age of 76 years old, peacefully on her own terms with her family by her side, at the Peter Lougheed Hospital Calgary, AB.

Betty Ann was predeceased by her parents Norman and Rose Ponto, and her beloved sister Margaret Jean Gish.

Betty Ann will be lovingly remembered by her long time companion Patrick Norman; her daughters Debbie (Gord) Wilks and Cindy Bergsma (Dan Burden); her grandchildren Brittany (Nick) Chouinard, Cody (Cassi) Burndred, Christopher (Shannon) Bergsma, Bryce Bergsma (Ashley Peters) and Brooke Burden; great-grandchildren Lincoln and Laila. Betty Ann is also survived by her siblings, brother Lloyd (Nella) Ponto and his children Meredith and Kathryn; sister Beverly (Pieter) van der Breggen and their children Abdullah, Ahmad and Layli; brother Jerry (Rosemary) Ponto and their children Nicole and Dina; brother-in-law Garth Gish and daughter Sarah (Gabrielle). 

Betty Ann was born in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, and moved to Calgary early in her teens. She will be remembered for her love of garage sales. Her charm of buying stuff and selling it for a profit was second to none. She was a collector of many things, especially vacuums and small appliances. Betty Ann was always someone you could count on for anything at any time, and she will be missed by the many people she touched in her lifetime. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at White Cliff Estates (3514 26A St. SE Calgary, Alberta) on April 20, 2024 at 2:00 pm
