Barry "Bear" Alvin Obal

Barry Alvin “Bear” Obal, born on October 15, 1951, in Regina, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025, at the Hanna, Alberta Hospital, at the age of 74.

Barry was the birth son of Adam and Olga Metz and the birth brother of Brian. At seven years old, he was adopted from the Dale House Orphanage by Eric and Bertha Obal, becoming a beloved brother to Billy Obal, Danny Obal, and Ruth Malo.

He was a proud uncle to Angi Frape, Suzanne Malo, Tara McFarlane, Carla McFarlane, and Shawna McFarlane, and a great-uncle to Kathryn Fouillard.

Barry was the father of two daughters, Natasha Morneau and Dawn Obal, who blessed him with six cherished grandchildren: Maddi, Blake, Austin, Sophia, Seth and Raelynn.

Honoring his wishes, there will be no funeral, and his cremated remains will be laid to rest privately.
