Anthony 'Tony' Edward Snead

Anthony (Tony) Edward Snead passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at the age of 50 years old. He will be missed by his wife of 17 years Kristen; children, MacEwan, Corbin, and furbaby Jovi; parents, David and Jane; siblings, Andrew (Sandy) and Amanda; and many more extended family members and friends.

Tony was born to David and Jane on February 26, 1973, in Vancouver, British Columbia, and was the eldest of three children. Together the family spent many summers sailing the water of the west coast and winters skiing. Tony attended Handsworth High School and was active in the jazz band program and many sports teams. Tony attended the University of British Columbia and graduated in 1998 with a Chemical Engineering degree. During his time at UBC, Tony was a member of the Sigma Phi Delta Fraternity and made many lifelong friendships and memories. From a debate on Tickle Me Elmo to being a cheerleader and earning the nickname “Buffy”, he enjoyed his time there.

After graduation, Tony moved to Calgary, AB to start his engineering career. It is here that he met Kristen, and they sparked an immediate friendship. From day one, Tony made Kristen the centre of his world. They purchased their first home together in 2002; married in 2006; welcomed two amazing children, MacEwan Edward in 2007 and Corbin Scott in 2009, and added, a family pet, Jovi in 2018. They purchased their forever home in the community of Cranston Riverstone in 2019, where they enjoyed access to Fish Creek Park pathways and spending time with each other.

Making memories and time with family were extremely important to Tony, help us make another memory in his honor. A Celebration of Tony’s Life will be held on his birthday, Monday, February 26, 2024, from 2-5 pm at Alloy Restaurant (220 42 Ave SE, Calgary, AB).
