Alec James Deeves passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025, at Colonel Belcher Care Centre. Alec spent most of his life in Alberta, and was a beloved family man, father, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother.
Alec had a long career with the City of Calgary as a heating and building inspector which spanned over 30 years. He also served in the naval reserve at HMCS Tecumseh, becoming a Chief Petty Officer.
Alec was married for over 50 years to his beloved wife Anne, who passed away in 2018. He is survived by his daughters Toby Gaskarth (Jason), Carla Pollard (David), grandsons Marcus and Myles, granddaughters Shannon and Madeleine, great-grandsons Samuel and Jayce. Alec is also survived by sisters Melody (Dave), Mavis (Ray), and Donna, sisters-in-law Shirley, Elayne and Janice. He was predeceased by his parents, Kae Larson, Arthur Deeves and step-father Ken Larson, his brothers Barry and Ronald. Alec is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Services will be held at St. Giles Presbyterian Church, 1102 23 Ave NW, Calgary, AB on Friday, September 5, at 11 am. Reception to follow.
